“Community is Everything” is a motto that our firm takes to heart. Our lawyers and staff seek out community development opportunities because we believe that part of our service includes participating in the activities, organizations and associations that help make our little corner of BC a great place to live, work and play. One such organization is the Rotary Club of Port Moody.
Michael Poznanski has been a Rotary Club member for eight years. He joined because he is passionate about the opportunities it provides to build a strong community while building friendships with those involved in the same goals. Given that Michael’s law practice focuses on business and estate planning and assisting local business owners and families to prepare for future growth and transition, Rotary Club was a natural fit. On June 22, Michael was inducted as President of the Port Moody branch, and he is looking forward to supporting his fellow Rotarians in doing great things during his tenure. You can read his induction speech HERE.
For those of you who don’t know, and are curious, a Rotary club is a social networking club with the goals of the betterment of humanity through local and international service, building peace and goodwill, and leadership by example. The Rotary Club of Port Moody is one of over 35,000 clubs worldwide. They have local projects including major fundraisers like the upcoming Ribfest (July 21-23), Search for the Perfect Pint, and Shredathon. They then use the funds raised through partnerships with Rotary International, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and other Rotary club partners around the world. Some of their projects include sending 300 kids a year to Camp Jubilee, funding school breakfasts, supporting the Eagle Ridge Hospital Manor, providing leadership training and exchange opportunities for youth, and funding hip dysplasia surgeries in South America. In short, the Rotary Club of Port Moody does many amazing things.
